Alberto Urroz’s first performance of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, which will take him on tour in Spain and Europe in 2024 and 2025, took place on an impressive ephemeral stage built for the occasion in the Roman Ruins of Andelo, as part of the XX International Music Festival of Mendigorria. The project, designed by the brilliant artist and architect Alberto Odériz, was awarded in the Innova Cultura 2022 call. Made with straw bales collected by peasants and farmers in the area, the theater was built just a few hours before the recital was held and dismantled the next day.
The enormous anticipation overflowed the audience, with more than 300 attendees. Alberto Urroz allowed access and freedom of seating to the entire audience, with some spectators even standing on the stage itself. A unique and unrepeatable event that thrilled everyone.
